Setup

1. Add the Track My Words google docs add-on , and select 'Start Tracking WPM' .

2. In the sidebar that opens, follow the link to register for your free license.

Make sure you get your time zone correct when you register! That is what we use to determine when your day starts and ends (so a writing day lasts from midnight to midnight for you).

3. After registering, click the 'License' link to get your license. Copy and paste your license from Track My Words into the license field in the Google Apps sidebar. After you save your license, the sidebar will look like this.
